Description:

A large deep reddish-brown slug. The rear end of its body has deep ridges. Black and red striped foot.
Possibly a European Red Slug, but I would like confirmation first.

When you live around as many slugs as we do, you find things to do... btw, you can't use a straight course. Draw a big chalk circle and start them in the middle.
Ha ha. That's funny shebebusynow. I never thought of racing them :) Good picture Alexander!
These guys eat my garden to nothing. Came in on some manure from a barn one time many years ago, stuck around. When you're really bored, try racing this species against banana slugs. Handled tenderly, banana slugs will take off but these guys hunker down.
These are very common (or similar ones) in Belgium during the summer :-)
