Description:

The Pied Kingfisher has a black and white plumage and crest. Its habit of hovering over the water before diving for fish makes it distinctive.

Habitat:

The Nile Delta, Egypt

Notes:

This is one of the pair of Pied Kingfishers I found while cruising on the Nile in southern Egypt.
