Field Notes

Description:

A solo Dowitcher hanging out with a couple of Red-necked Phalaropes in the evening.

Habitat:

Serene, shallow waters of the Olds River Estuary

Notes:

There were some other, smaller shorebirds also in the estuary but they were too hard to photograph in the dark from afar, but based on their size and large numbers they were likely sandpipers.
