Description:

Poisonous North American plant that is well known for its production of urushiol, a clear liquid compound found within the sap of the plant that causes an itching rash in most people who touch it. The plant is not a true ivy (Hedera)

Habitat:

urban, my backyard

Notes:

Poison Ivy grows wild at the back of my yard. It's mixed in with English Ivy, which I don't want to get rid of, so I just keep them both and don't go back there!

The product is made by Tecnu, and it's called Poison Ivy and Oak cleaner.

Glad I could help. Be very careful of this plant. There is a product out there that you can use if you suspect you've had contact with poison ivy. If you use it right after suspected contact, it helps to reduce or eliminate the effects. We have this at my work, though I'm not sure of the name. I will find out what it is.

Thanks, I was looking for a good pic for this plant, we recently moved from Mexico to USA, and I have heard about poison ivy, but I have never seen one before, It is important to identify it because I have three very active children who love outdoors :)
