Description:

Black and Orange insect that you find on Milkweed plants, but do no harm

Habitat:

Milkweed. Seen at the Laurel/Nokomis school in the Horticulture gardens.

Sounds reasonable to me; it just looks a lot like boxelder bugs I've seen.
I'm pretty sure this is the Large Milkweed Bug, especially since it's on Milkweed!
They've also gained a nickname as the "love bugs"; they stick together in union for seeming days.
