Field Notes

Description:

This beehive was in one of the ruins of Ayutthaya, Thailand. The bees don´t look to me like the typical Apis melifera, but I am not sure whether they are african bees? anyone can help me ID them?

Habitat:

Building walls.

I would not like to be on their way for sure :-)
hahaha.. its just that the Africanized bees are more defensive than European honey bees and are a hybrid strain of Apis mellifera derived from experiments by Warwick Estevam Kerr to cross European and African honey bees. Nick
May be they were buddhist .. :-)
If they were Africans (Not that you can physically distinguish them) they would have been after you for 500 meters before they give up... Nick
