Description:

Common semi-aquatic turtle, muted brown or olive upper shell with yellow and black markings on the head, neck and legs. The underside of the shell is yellow.

Habitat:

Cooters live in a wide variety of rivers, lakes, ponds and marshes with heavy vegetation.
