Description:

Perhaps a species of huntsman spider? I'm not sure what that thing is on it's left front "leg" in the first picture? I don't even think it's a leg, as it's not long enough...what is it? wierd...it's amazing what you can see so close up.

Found in my backyard

They are limbs, but not legs, as the spiders who have them still have the requisite eight of those. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedipalp
Is it qualified to be called as limbs? My Biology book mentioned that chelicerae and pedipalps are part of spider's limbs.
The thing that you are not sure is a leg is called a pedipalp. It's used for holding or pulling prey towards the mouth parts.
