I'm no expert but I'd say it's a good match up. There's so many varieties out there of tulips. :) Beautiful flower though especially the top view.

I did a little digging thanks to your suggestions - I think this may be a White Truimphator Tulip http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/plant/tulipa-white-triumphator What do you think?

I think most likely it's a lily flowering tulip. http://www.flickr.com/photos/14508691@N08/2461014389/ Not sure if I can help narrow it down though.
