Caught at the Innes Point Bird Observatory. Not banded as special training and a special permit is required to band hummingbirds.

Yes Sharad, I was doing an internship at a bird observatory at the time. The birds were caught, banded and released as a part of their spring migration monitoring program.
do you actually catch those birds ? i see many of your spottings are hand holded

i looked at it...it does have a green head and i think it is ruby throated
I don't think it is. Alice is right! Great pic though.
The ruby-throated hummingbird is the only hummingbird species that occurs in Ontario, so I'm quite certain that's who it is.
Ruby throat has a green head. I don't recognize this one.
