Field Notes

Description:

More colourful than the Iberian Wall lizard with its orange hind legs. Grows to 25 cm.

Habitat:

Loves sandy places with dense prickly bushes and plants. Hunts under them and also climbs them as it has protection from the spines with its large pointed scales.

Notes:

Often squeaks if handled, like geckoes. Common here in Portugal, also in Spain and parts of France.
