Field Notes

Description:

It is a medium to large sized toad with numerous black-tipped, horny warts spread all over the body. Colour is highly variable ranging fromplain brick red to almost black. The underside is largely white with fine black spots.

Habitat:

Juveniles stay in large groups and feed in groups in daytime also. Adults are solitary and feed only in night. Feed on small insects, earth worms etc and generally hard bodied insects like grasshoper, beetles are avoided. They are found in all available habitats includins human homes.
