Description:

This is a juvenile from the hawksbill sea turtle. This poor one has a sad story with happy ending: we were in an island of the kuna villages in the Caribbean shores of Panama. The fisher men catch them to sell them for cooking. Some tourists bought her to release her again in the sea.

Thanks for your nice comments :-) I think for small indigenous villages is yet not obvious the impact of eating turtles and their eggs. If it would happen at a local level in small communities I guess the turtle population would not be endangered. I think the major problem comes from fish industries in certain areas of the world still killing these animals for food. Same thought goes for the sharks.
How adorable. So sad that these wonderful, long-lived animals are catch for food.
Colour combination and eyes are so pretty...!! Go baby go.. to safe of Ocean..!!
I just hope the fishermen did not catch her again later on..
Great picture. Hopefully it's prepared for the rough and tumble ocean.
