Field Notes

Description:

Black and white diving duck, smaller than a mallard.

Notes:

A few pairs of these just appeared on the pond behind where I live today. But they only appeared as the sun started to get clouded over, so you can't see the brilliant purple tinge the male has to his coat. And his tuft isn't being tufty!

Ashish that's very kind of you to say :) These ducks are regular visitors to the pond behind where I live, so I will try to snap them again on a sunnier day. When the male is in sunlight, you can see that his feathers have a purple tinge!
Yes Emma..Laura's collection is really great and very precious for Project Noah...because most of Organism spotted in their natural or original habitat..!!
