Field Notes

Description:

This is a large insect. Wing span is about 3 1/2 cm. Fuzzy back and large eyes. Wings fanned out to side in resting position.

Habitat:

Forests and open areas here.

Notes:

It came in for a landing and rested then flew away. I've checked the usual places and BugGuide brought me close.
