Amanita umbrinella is this the Name of the mushroom??
My apologies.. I was on my mobile and did not pay attention as to where the posting was done.. Nick
Nicholas, I don't think we have A. pantherina in Australia. We do have A. phalloides (Death Cap) and quite a number of other Amanita species, one of which this could be, given the retained veil high up on the stem. I'm tending toward thinking that it is A. umbrinella from this photo.
I think this may be an Amanita Pantherina var. Velarites If so it's DEADLY
