Description:

Also known as brace comb or bridge comb, our honey bees build this annoying stuff in places where they find there's too much open space in the hive. We scrape it out because it makes working with the hive frames all the more difficult. It is quite beautiful, though. My boyfriend took this photo using a diffused strobe for backlighting.

great architecture
Amazing Geometric structures built by the honey bee!! I used to help my Great Grandma and I know its tedious to tend bees, but the rewards are phenomenal.. Nothing like real honey!! Beautiful shot
Thanks, Heather. That's exactly right - just another thing to pull apart.
It's a cool picture. Sorry it's annoying. I assume it's annoying to bee keeping?
