Field Notes

Description:

This insect is about 8 mm long. Iridescent blue on it's wings. Two medium length antennae. The hind legs have alternate dark and clear markings. It flys. The larger front legs help when maneuvering on it's hunt.

Habitat:

Small plants in meadows and forest.

Notes:

Enjoying the day. How I found the ID was to go to BugGuide and looked through the insect pictures. When a genus looks similar then I look under that Genus on Wikipedia. This is a predator bug. On another leaf of this plant a small Lynx spider was eyeing this Damsel Bug as lunch.
