That's really interesting thank you, ill fix it later when i have time but thank you again that is really cool that you did some research on it. i have 3 hungry squirrels climbing on me for some food. lol

I thought this insect looked familiar when I first looked at your posting a couple of days ago, but I just couldn't place it. Then today I was brushing up on some ID skills and had one of those moments...grin. I believe what you have here is a Winter Firefly (Ellychnia corrusca). See http://bugguide.net/node/view/42641 for more information. This firefly is active during the day as well as at night, but, unlike other fireflies cannot produce light as an adult. It tends to live on plants and is often found on tree trunks.
