Field Notes

Description:

This is the largest frog in India. It is easily identified by its large size and tiger like stripes on its back. Generally of yellowish in colour but some have green on the sides. A broad white band runs along the side seperating darker back from white underside. They also have a white-yellow vertibral line.

Habitat:

They are mainly found in rice plantations, irrigation channels, ponds and along stream sides.
