Description:
Nesting time for these wrens - very small and lively bird; a nightmare to photograph, because it always moves so fast, but great to watch... Here, I found them even faster than usually, probably because of the nest they were constructing. Pics N° 4 and 5 6 show the entrance to the tuft of reed grasses where nest/nests are hidden... Inside there is one couple for sure; possibly more, I believe to have seen them (or another couple?) coming out on the other side...
Habitat:
Seen in a protected wetland, an exceptional site managed by Pro Natura Geneva. The marsh in question is a small one, and surrounded by agricultural fields and urban settings; but is a part of a chain of protected habitats/wetlands on a migration route.
Notes:
You will probably notice that only the leading shot is clear and sharp - and yes, that was the only one after two days of observing them. I spent over five hours and I-do-not-know how many shots trying to figure them out in these marshes. It was wonderful to watch them, a bit frustrating for pics, but, hey, well worth it really.
