Field Notes

Description:

A colourful bird with a brownish breast, blue crown and vent, purplish-blue wings and a sky blue tail with a terminal band of Prussian blue. Spotted here in Khasab, Oman, at the very western end of its distribution range.

Habitat:

Seen here in a garden by the sea. General habitat includes cultivated areas, thin forest and grassland.

Notes:

I watched this bird every morning and evening during a 2 days stay in Khasab. 2nd shot is what happens when you don't set your shutter speed right...
