This a narrowly peltate Alocasia which is often mistaken for Alocasia macrorrhizos, the common' elephant ear'. A. odora is often traded as an ornamental plant, and tolerates wide temperature range. It is widespread in mainland SE Asia from NE India to E Asia and as far north as Taiwan and southern Kyushu in Japan.
