Field Notes

Notes:

I photographed this plant in a reminiscent of the Atlantic Forest a couple of years ago and so far I have not been able to identify it. I think it is a flower but I am not even sure about that.

If I knew it was interesting I would have tried to photograph it from ventral aspect also, but I was in a hurry hiking with others and then forgot about it. Since then I have asked a couple of botanists I know in Rio de Janeiro and they just made a face, like "who knows" (!?). Oh well.
This is very cool. I'm thinking it may be some type of parasite. I'll try to do some research on it. I'm really interested in parasitic blooms. Search 'Organisms' on Noah to see other parasitic blooms that have been spotted.
