Field Notes

Description:

Upper plumage golden yellow and black; lower buffy white streaked with black, more boldly on breast. crown ans crest crimson.

Habitat:

Inhibits open tree and scrub jungle and partial to mango topes, grooves of ancient trees and coconut plantation. Works up stems and boughs of trees in jerky spurts, directly or in spirals, occasionally sliding a few feet down in reverse gear.

Notes:

on the left side is the male and on the right, the female..
