Description:

A very small, sand-colored bird that lives and nests near the Atlantic Ocean. It is very fast and is camouflaged by its sand-colored feathers to avoid predators. A Piping Plover eats freshwater and marine invertebrates like worms, insects, crustaceans, and mollusks.

Habitat:

Fortune's Rock Beach, Maine
