Description:

3 1/2 inch wide, purple flowers with intricately veined, yellow-based sepals.

Habitat:

Spotted on the edge of a meadow beside a wet, deciduous forest.

Notes:

Insects attracted to this plant must crawl under the style and brush past a stigma and stamen, which helps facilitate pollination.
