Field Notes

Description:

dark body, striped, white underbelly
see my notes for the full story

Habitat:

transition zone between cerrado and atlantic coast rainforest

Notes:

I was walking alone quietly in the forest when I heard a commotion in the leaf litter. I approached cautiously and whatever it was didn't notice me. I thought it was a snake eating something. But then suddenly the animals noticed me and they broke apart and ran off in different directions! I can only guess it was lizards mating and I broke it up! Bad timing!
