Field Notes

Description:

They may not look all that spectacular (personally though I find them quite beautiful) but these birds are actually among the most intelligent of the bird species. Capable of complex behaviours such as using tools to get food they are really quite spectacular in their own way. This guy was perched next to a lake, looking at bypassers on their sunday stroll.

Takk StianWaaler :)
The Carrion Crow and commen raven are very similar but the common ravens beak are bigger then the carrion crows beak... I would say that it is a Carrion Crow
Sorry, adjust my opinion a bit here... Corvus splendens has a a lighter grey-brown neck and breast, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_Crow... I think Stian has the correct id, but it is worth mentioning that there is a possibility of it being Corvus corax, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Raven
Thanks both, will change Ashish - good tip :)
Its must be added in Urban Biodiversity Mission. This is most best friend of Human. Due to crows we Humans are far away from lots of deceases. Crow is best scavenger animal and staying close to Human.
Totally there with you on the humble crow Elsa! Nice shots.
