Thanks for the input everyone! I don't think it's a purple finch as the males are red in color and this one was definitely more of an orangey-yellow. I think Monkey-mind could be right about the Common Crossbill.
The one looks more like a purple finch than a goldfinch. I have many goldfinches at my feeders and the male are bright yellow and the females are a dull yellow.
