This is actually an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail not an Old World Swallowtail! If you check out the wiki links you will be able to see the difference!
I also saw one on my front porch! It was in mid July. I live in Northeast PA. My brother called it a Luna Moth but it looked just like this. Wish I had a picture.
