Field Notes

Description:

About 6 inches long, with a white "egg" beneath the soil. The pictures here are after drying out from a hot day (will take pictures of fresh ones tomorrow). The neighbor dug the egg up with a spade (pictured). I talked her into not destroying any more of them.

Habitat:

Found in moist mulch beneath a shading plant in a flower garden.
