Field Notes

Description:

This is a brown bird about a foot long, living at the lion habitat of the Houston Zoo.

Habitat:

Wetlands. It was spotted standing beside the moat which surrounds the lion habitat.

Notes:

The bird appears to be wild, living at the zoo of his own accord. (It can easily fly away.) It stood on a rail while I was there, even as people moved fairly close to it.
