Description:

The color in this picture is a bit off (gray background) because it was taken during a solar eclipse. The pattern for this species is very variable. Upperside is orange with black borders; the postmedian and submarginal areas are crossed by fine black marks.

Habitat:

Spotted in a rural flower garden.
