Description:

The bird was hanging out on the flats by the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.

Habitat:

Mudflats.

Good picture. They are very wary and aware of people.
Apparently, this crane has just "painted" itself with brown mud, presumably containing iron. Thus the crane changes its color from gray to brownish.
