Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized, dark gray caterpillar with yellow markings and white lateral stripes. Sparse dark hairs along body, especially on the lower part above the legs. Head is dark with a light wedge, dark mandibles and a small dark spot in the middle of the wedge.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Cedar Point County Park, NY.
