Description:

5 eggs from an eastern blue bird

Habitat:

Nest box in an open area, approx 50-74 ft from woods

Notes:

The bluebirds come back every year, and raise 2 broods. We see 4 eggs typically. In the past 8 years, we've only had 5 eggs a few times.

That's great! I never feel like Spring is here until the Bluebirds return. I was worried, because we replaced their old nestbox, but I guess I didn't have to.
That is a surprise picture! My brother works in the Summer helping to watch Bluebird boxes in a near-by park and keeping track of when and how many families there are.
