Nice image! Great spotting!
It was about 3.5 feet long. Not very long, but they are very "thick-bodied" snakes.
Good photo! This is a good looking snake! How many feet long was it?
It was kind of weird that it didn't "trap-jaw" at all. This one just hunkered down and played defense.
Great pictures regardless. It occurred to me that pictures of cottonmouths from the front, head-on, (with mouth closed) are rare. Great perspectives of this one.
Maybe. I lose some serious picture quality when I zoom in any more than that.
Just looked at these again today, Mitch. Awesome stuff. I believe in the second picture of the set, which has more of a side profile of the head, you can see a fang showing! Check out the larger, zoomed version and let me know what you think.
