Description:
About 23mm long. The broad pronotum and elytra cover a slender elongated body; the head is narrow and pointy, designed to feed on nectar. The black/orange colouration is aposematic, with the species in this genus possessing odorant deterrents (pyrazines) and acetylenic acid, named lycidic acid after the family (Lycidae). The larvae are predatory.
Habitat:
On, or near flowers in semi-arid region in central Mexico.
