Field Notes

Description:

Shiny dark brown gilled mushrooms in 3 stages of development. They had the flaring volva, partial veil was absent, tiny scales on the stipe. None of them had any patches of universal veil stuck to the cap.

Habitat:

Pacific temperate rain forest near the coast in Washington State.

Notes:

Found along the walking trail in Seaquest State Park.
