Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized flycatcher, grey-black above, cream white bellow with a large rusty-orange spot on chest. Bright white throat collar.

Habitat:

Very common around agricultural fields; I see them especially on tops of manure being left next to fields in preparation for cultivation.

Notes:

Previously considered subspecies of S. torquatus.
