Yes, it's perfect and is a must-have for anyone who loves butterfly recording.
Rithmini I got the book today. thank you for recommending it. its so descriptive and immensely valuable to me
It includes photographs of all 248 butterfly species in Sri Lanka and useful tips for IDing.
Oh There's a much better guide you should buy if you're okay with its high price, "Field Guide to the Butterflies of SL by George Michael". It's the guide I use and where all my knowledge comes from. If you're interested, you can find more information here: http://www.lepodonbooks.com/
I think this is indeed Malayan. May I know your other suggestions? If it's Quaker, I can say with certainty that this is not Quaker. Quaker is similar to Malayan but, its wings are rounder, and the line above the submarginal spots on the underside hindwing is wavy, not lunular. It is lunular in Malayan.
I think you have posted this before... And your guess there was correct. This is Malayan.
