Field Notes

Description:

A young Eastern Painted Turtle basking on a sunny day in late October.

Habitat:

Large freshwater pond with plenty of aquatic vegetation. Air temperature was around 60 degrees fahrenheit.

Notes:

Snapping Turtles, Red-bellied Turtles, Mud Turtles and Musk Turtles also share this pond.
