Description:

A hairy red pittosporum spotted in the Daintree Forest near Cape Tribulation, Far North Queensland, Australia. This striking tropical rainforest species carries orange seed capsules. The central part of the fruit is red but here has already been eaten by birds.

Habitat:

Rainforest.

Notes:

Native to North Queensland; not found south of Proserpine. The Daintree Rainforest is the single largest block of tropical rainforest in Australia. The area is protected under World Heritage listing, and stretches from Townsville to Cooktown.
