Description:

Blackish-brown fungi which are centrally depressed (nearly vase-shaped). Gills are somewhat decurrent, slightly distant, and a paler gray-brown color than the pilei (depending on lighting)

Habitat:

Growing on highly rotted wood on a forested trail.
