A symbiosis between ants and black aphids, the ants are protecting and nursing them. In return the get "milked".

Hello, I had the same ants and aphids on a pyracantha bush. The ants were Carpenter Ants tending to the aphids for their sticky sweet secretions. The bush was too close to my house so we had to cut it down, : (
