Yes, I was thinking they may also be in Mexico, I also wondered if the spines protect them from predators?
South-central US and Northern Mexico
They're pretty much spiny all over. Adults are generally 8-11 inches from nose to tail-tip.
How large do these lizards get? And do they have a spiny tail?
