This is a Monkey Hopper from the superfamily Eumastacoidea. I always thought about the in East Asia quite common genus Erianthus is from the family Eumastacidae, but according to the database is is actually Eumastacoidea and Chorotypidae. So we also should no more called the Monkey Hoppers just Eumastacidae, but Eumastacoidea and Chorotypidae if they belong to Erianthinae/Erianthus and the other common subfamilies. http://orthoptera.speciesfile.org/common/basic/Taxa.aspx?TaxonNameID=1118065 Erianthus is obviously not found in India, si it must be another subfamily/genus??
