Field Notes

Description:

This ground beetle is emerald-green in color with yellowish spots on elytra - spots vary in pattern and extent (as seen on second specimen in photo N° 3, spots are absent or invisible). Not very big beetle, some 12mm in length; these two were observed while performing short flyes; flying very low to the ground.

Habitat:

Observed on montane pastures and grasslands, in a valley of lake Geneva, hills at the base of Jura mountain range.
