This is not the army ants' larva, but a captured pupa of another ant species in the genus Camponotus. Army ants eat the brood of other species, so immature ants captured in the columns are not necessarily those of the army ants.
Very disturbing to me and a little disgusting image... but also very cool and sensitive! Congrats! ...the awesome images do this to the people who watchs it... it's a piece of art!
So cool, usually larvaes are not abandoned, I could´not notice any problem around ...
Oh my...is that cool, or what!
